SP 15 Acupuncture Point(Daheng) belongs to the Spleen Meridian of Foot-Taiyin,which is commonly used for abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, dysentery, and intestinal ascariasis. Puncture 1 to 2 cun straight.

4 cun lateral to the center of the umbilicus (CV 8) lateral to rectus abdominus.

What is the meaning of Daheng

Daheng:”Da”,Large,refers to the area of Qi of this point is large.”Heng”, horizontally, the movement of Qi is horizontal wind-qi. The name of “Daheng” means that the substance of this point is the horizontal dampness wind-qi of the heaven from SP 14(Fujie). After reaching this point, the dampness-qiturn into wind-qi due to absorbing heat,the movement of which is the horizontal transmission of the heaven, hence the name.

Abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation and other spleen and stomach diseases.

Clinical:Constipation, intestinal carbuncle caused by stagnation of Qi,diarrhea due to cold-evil, abdominal pain, physical weakness with hyperhidrosis.
