What is the meaning of Tongziliao
Tongziliao:”Tongzi”, refers to the black part of eyeball, which is governed by the kidney water,here means the cold dampness-qi. “Liao”, the pore. The name of “Tongziliao” means that the outside cold dampness-qi gathers here, and then cools down and returns to the ground. This point is the first point on the head and face of Gall Bladder Meridian. The Qi of this point is the cold and dampness-qi gathers here,and cools down from the heaven to the ground,like the small cold droplets falling from the pores, hence the name.
GB 1 Acupuncture Point Usage
- Eye diseases such as swelling and pain of eye;
- Headache, facial paralysis.

GB 1 Acupuncture Point Therapy
- Gently press and rub GB 1(Tongziliao) point with the pad of your middle finger for 1 to 3 minutes each time, once a day in the morning and once in the evening. It can effectively relieve epiphora with wind, swelling and pain of eye, and refractive errors.
